Tour Highlights
Day 1: Day 1: After arriving in Bhutan, your Tour team will greet you with a traditional scarf for you to keep and then take you to the first of your tour destinations Thimphu. You will check into your hotel and later have time to explore the city and visit the National Memorial Chorten.
Day 2-3: Thimphu will delight you with places such as Sematokha Monastery, Simply Bhutan (a living museum), Cheri Monastery Hike, Tango Monastery Hike, Buddha Dordenma and hike and many more options to suit your travel desires. Drive to Punakha via the beautiful Dochula Pass and later make a short easy hike through a small village to a special temple that sits on a small hill overlooking the valley.
Day 4-5: You will visit the famous Punakha Dzong followed by the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan. You will also have the opportunity to make a hike up to a temple and enjoy views over Punakha Valley. After lunch visit with local Nunnery where you will have time to mingle and get to know the local Nuns. You will then make the drive to ‘Trongsa’ meaning new town or new village, which lies right at the central part of Bhutan. You will have a relaxing afternoon with time to explore around the town in the evening.
Day 6-9: After breakfast visit Trongsa Museum, walk from Museum to Trongsa Dzong. After the lunch drive to far central Bhutan, Bumthang the most Religious site of Bhutan, where the flourish of Buddhism began in the 8th Century. During the next few days you will have the opportunity to visit the centuries old monastery and temples built around the 7th and 8th centuries, drive to one of two stunning valleys, one valley is known as Tang where you will be visit a local Museum and options of hiking around the village. The other valley is Ura, where you will hike downhill to the valley and visit farm house and Monastery and experience local farm house lunch. The last day in this area after breakfast you will drive back to the western part of Bhutan to Phobjikha/Gangtey, the valley is the winter home of the Black Necked Crane and its one of the most remote valleys in the western part of Bhutan, after lunch you will be able to visit Gangtey Gompa (monastery) and walk around the small town. Relax in the evening at your accommodation.
Day 10-12: This area may appear sleepy but has a lot to offer, with beautiful scenery, hikes of different levels and a feeling you could lose yourself in its peacefulness. Hike from the monastery through the pine forest to a farmhouse where you will enjoy a traditional lunch, during the afternoon we will take you to experience some excellent views over the valley and if inclined enjoy an afternoon beverage and snack as the sun drops behind the impressive mountains. The next day you will make your way back west to Paro via Dochula Pass, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and have some time in the afternoon to explore the town. Day 12 is a special day where you will make the 7km hike to the famous Taktsang Monastery (Tigers Nest), it is truly a highlight of any tour to Bhutan, if hiking isn’t your thing, we have many other wonderful places for you to experience.
Day 13: Our team will transfer you to the International airport to bid you farewell and safe journey to your next destination.
